This book answers a question which came about while the author was work­ ing on his diploma thesis 1: would it be better to ask for the available band­ width instead of probing the network (like TCP does)? The diploma thesis was concerned with long-distance musical interaction ("NetMusic"). This is a very peculiar application: only a small amount of bandwidth may be necessary, but timely delivery and reduced loss are very important. Back then, these require­ ments led to a thorough investigation of existing telecommunication network mechanisms, but a satisfactory answer to the question could not be found. This book is great!!! Even without the professor guidance I was able to achieve the final product. Make no mistake, this is the most meticulously researched and likely the definitive biograhy of that great American archetype, William Butler Hickok, known to history as "Wild Bill." Mr. Some key equations are included only when absolutely needed. These are really the best way to get to know a philosopher. The real "Wild Bill's" life is full of holes, obscured by myth and legend, and to Mr. His involvement with Israel deepens, sometimes leading to frustrations. At least in the sense of who the philosopher is as a person. These are years of Berlin's fame, if one wants to call his business that. Its extensive annotated footnotes are indispensable, since otherwise we non-Oxford Americans would likely not have the slightest idea of the individuals, ideas, or places that pop up.
