Also refreshing was that, as another reviewer has pointed out, the main character had no real power of his own. He adds the music, clothes, hairstyles, and vehicles of the day and tells his riveting story with his own unique style to take us back to that turbulent time.

Reggie was the only one of his friends to graduate from high school. This concise and well written book was extremely easy to follow - flowed well and is aligned with the syllabus - in fact the syllabus is referenced. However, though the book details the thoughts and actions of African-American, Latina, Asian-American, and Native American feminists, I was disappointed that it neglected to mention the work being done by Arab-Americans.
