This book manages to convey the details of immune system while continually relating the science to human experiences, particularly those familiar to children.

According to my five year old, one of the highlights of the book is when spider-like viruses shoot across a school bus and proceed to 'chomp through the protecting mucus' of the lungs. I finally bought this book as part of one last attempt to learn about the brain before I had to take the psych GRE subject test, and I found it to be amazingly helpful. The title and back cover made it sound like it was going to be an engaging read. There are lots of books on the technical side that will teach you how to live off grid, that's not what you will find between the pages of this book.
